OverviewPatient Care Technician-Blank 4 Pedatric Oncology-BCHPart-time; 24 hours per week; 7A-7P Weekend/Holiday RotationProvides direct patient care for patients and families under the supervision of an RN or delegation of tasks from a team member. Performs procedures for patients and provides technical services and support. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families. Obtains adequate blood specimens as defined in work area. - - Labels all specimens in accordance with standards. - - Demonstrates ability to consistently meet the department work schedule. - - Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service. - - Balances team and individual responsibilities, objective and open to other's views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to positive team goals, puts success of team above own interest. -QualificationsMinimum RequirementsIdentify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position. -Preferred or SpecializedNot required to perform the essential functions of the position. -Education: - Eighteen (18) years of age - High school diploma or GED equivalent - - 75 Hour Basic CNA Course Experience: - Previous healthcare experience License(s)/Certification(s): - Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. - - Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. -Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. - - Multicultural sensitivity. - - Microsoft Office - basic computer skills. - - Customer/patient focused. -Other: - Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
